Rice Military
The Rice Military/Memorial Park area is considered one of the most sought-after among Houston's Inner Loop neighborhoods.
This Houston neighborhood gets its name from the family that used to own the area. One notable member of that family was William Marsh Rice, who founded Rice University.The Military part of the name comes from nearby Camp Logan.
Camp Logan, now withing Memorial Park, was a First World War training camp. Memorial Park, as a whole, is about 1,600 acres. It is found northwest of downtown Houston.
Tand was eventually sold to Bankers Trust Co. in 1910. From then on, the area has blossomed into a subdivision.

Washington Avenue borders it at the north, while Memorial Drive is at its south.The east and west boundaries of Rice Military are Shepherd Drive and Westcott Street, respectively.
